The Prunus avium is a seedling and therefore very vigourous and unsuitable for intensive orchards. It is producing a large tree that is very productive and compatible with many sweet cherry varieties.

The prunus avium is an excellent rootstock for the commercial market as espalier near road-sides, public buildings, parks and so on.
