The Malus domestica M7 is a semi-dwarfing rootstock. Strong points are its great disease tolerance and adaptability to a range of soils and climates.
It’s quite tolerant for drought conditions but may require irrigation if continued drought follows.
Depending on the apple varieties the trees may lean in the first years and therefore the M7 may require trunk support. Normally no permanent stake is needed.
Also it’s an ideal rootstock for the commercial market due to his adaption on most of the soils and the good winter hardiness.
