Malus Domestica A2
The A.2 or Alnarp 2 is a very winter hardy, vigorous rootstock introduced in 1944.
It produces large free-standing trees. The A2 induces early bearing and reasonable good productivity.
This rootstock is suitable for extensive orchards in cold areas.
The A2 rootstock performs well on a wide range of soil types, including heavier soils, and shows good tolerance to cold and challenging growing conditions. Thanks to its strong root system, it does not require permanent support and is ideal for traditional orchards and low-maintenance plantings. Malus domestica A2 is widely used in Northern Europe for its reliability, longevity, and consistent tree development.
