Draper®, Liberty® and Aurora® Licensed Blueberry Varieties for Fairplant

In 2017, Fairplant from Emmeloord started producing blueberry plants (Vaccinium corymbosum) in-house. Recently, Fairplant has been allowed to add three licensed varieties to its assortment: Draper®, Liberty®, and Aurora®.
Michigan State University (MSU) granted Fairplant the licenses. Sales Manager Rik Klein explains: “We initially chose to grow blueberries in-house to better meet demand. We are pleased that we can now offer these three popular varieties in Europe and the UK as well.”

In the 1990s, Professor Emeritus Hancock from MSU began breeding and propagating these varieties. They were introduced to the market in 2004 and continue to perform exceptionally well! In the future, we also plan to offer our range of varieties as organic options.
The EXPO-SE trade fair on November 20 and 21 in Karlsruhe will be the first opportunity for interested parties to ask us everything about blueberries.

A Fertile Foundation

Fairplant grows very high-quality starting material for fruitbearing trees and plants in a fair-way, thus contributing to the start of a healthy food chain and also better climate worldwide.

The company is based in the Noordoostpolder (Netherlands). On the fertile polder soil, the rootstocks and plants develop a strong and productive foundation. In 2020, Fairplant opened a demo field with all common and organic blueberries it offers, allowing customers to see how the varieties grow and develop.
