G.213 Apple Rootstock – High Performance for Modern Apple Orchards

The G.213 rootstock is part of the Geneva® rootstock series, developed by Cornell University and the USDA-ARS. It is an excellent choice for both new and replanting apple orchards, especially in regions with fewer chilling hours, like Brazil, where it is commonly used. This rootstock is known for its high yield, strong growth, and early fruit production across different apple cultivars.Key Features:
  • Vigor: Similar to M.9 Pajam®2, providing balanced tree growth.
  • Yield: Produces good, early fruit yields.
  • Yield Efficiency: 100-125% higher than M9 T337, making it very productive.
  • Disease Resistance: G.213 is very resistant to fire blight and woolly aphid, i.r.t. some other rootstocks like for example a G.11.
  • Characteristics: Like G.41, but requires fewer chilling hours to promote flowering and fruit set, ideal for warmer climates.
  • Waterlogging Tolerance: Can tolerate wet soil conditions better than many other apple rootstocks.
The G.213 rootstock is a strong, disease-resistant option that supports high yields and early production, making it a reliable choice for apple growers in a warmer climate.
